Fred Mendes

Fred Mendes began his studies in drawing and painting as a self-taught artist in 2004. In 2006 he participated in his first group exhibition, in the same year (2006) he began conducting painting workshops for children, young people and adults. In 2008, he entered the State University of Minas Gerais (Escola Guignard) where he completed in 2012 the full Bachelor of Arts course. In 2013 Fred Mendes participated in a collective exhibition at the National Arts Foundation (Funarte MG -Brasil) where he presented two works that inaugurated his aesthetic research between the approximation of literature (poetry) and the visual arts. In 2018, he had his first individual exhibition at the Public Library of Minas Gerais (Brazil) and in the same year his work "telescopar" was incorporated into the collection of the Salão Curitibano de Artes Visuais (Brazil). In 2020 Fred Mendes received the honorable mention award for the work "GlocK" in his participation in the IX Salão de Itabirito (MG-Brazil).

Fred Mendes lives and works in Belo Horizonte - MG, Brazil. His art has been featured in several regional exhibitions. He continues in his atelier practice and teaching in the arts.
